Another year’s Holiday Season is officially here, but not without the gratitude for those who have brought me to this point.  As with every previous year that I’ve been part of the Stampin’ UP! family, I’m so thankfor for all the friends I’ve made during this amazing journey.

First Frost Part 2 - Masculine Birthday

 

Stampin’ Up! Copper Embossing Powder and

Frosted Bouquet Framelits 

On Monday I posted a project created with the First Frost Bundle of stamp set and Framelits. Here is another project created with this same bundle.   This project is rich in metallic finishes using Copper Stampin’ Emboss Powder, Galvanized Card Stock and Metallic Washi Tape.  Together with the Bermuda Bay and Tranquil Tide Card Stock, I think they really create a gorgeous masculine card.  Let’s get started...

Step by Step:

• Start by cutting a 4” x 5 1/4” piece of Bermuda Bay Card Stock and mounting it on a 4 1/8” x 5 3/8” piece of Tranquil Tide Card Stock.  Stretch a piece of copper Washi Tape (mine was from the 2017 Holiday Catalog) across the bottom of the card.
• Stamp the three botanical images on the Galvanized Card Stock using VersaMark ink and heat emboss them using Stampin’ Emboss Copper Embossing Powder.  Cut them outbusing the smaller of the two frames from the Frosted Bouquet Framelits.  Then cut out a fourth frame for the sentiment.
• For the sentiment I used two separate stamp sets.  The Happy Birthday is from the ‘Detailed With Love’ Set.  But I can’t remember where I got the ‘to a wonderful man’ isentiment.  I am not at home so it’s difficult to research.  But if anyone REALLY wants to know, leave me a comment and when I get home I’ll look it up!  Stamp them on the fourth frame from the above set.
• Mat all four frame shapes on Tranquil Tide Card Stock usingbthe lrger frame from the Framelits Set.  Pop them all up using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Simple!

Stamp Review Crew - First Frost

It's the third Monday of October and that means it's time for the Stamp Review Crew Hop. We are a group of Stampin' UP! demonstrators sharing a ton of ideas focused on a single stamp set. This week we're featuring the First Frost Suite stamp set.  You have likely come from Charlet Mallett on your way through this amazing hop. I have never been fond of botanical Thinlits and single plant stamps.  I find them incredibly difficult to create with.  But it’s time to face my demons.  And the fact that this stamp Set is called First Frost, I need to create some sparkle.  Enter Wink of Stella!  Let’s get started...

 Step by Step:

• We start creating this beauty by cutting a 3 3/4” x 5” piece of Smoky Slate Card Stock.  Stamp the Marbled background stamp on this using Mossy Meadow Classic ink.  And O-M-G!  This stamp is so beautiful no matter what color you use.  It’s gorgeous shading creates a swirling “smoky” look that enhances every card.  
• Take a Wink of Stella Pen and follow all the swirls to create a frosted look.  This picture doesn’t do the Wink of Stella justice, but it gives you the general idea.  Click to enlarge.  Mat this using Old Olive Card Stock.
• Cut an oval of Smoky Slate Card Stock using the second largest oval from the Layer Ovals Thinlits Set.  Matbit on the largest oval die cut from Sparkle Glimmer Paper using Tear & Tape or Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  SNAIL won’t hold it.  Mount this on the marbled background using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
• Stamp,out the various plant components on Smoky Slate Card Stock using Old Olive, Smoky Slate and Cajun Craze Classic inks cut them out using the coordinating Framelits from this set.  Cut out three sprigs from Sparkle Glimmer Paper.  Arrange them all in a cluster and attach them using Multipurpose Liquid Glue. 
• Stamp the sentiment on Smoky Slate Card Stock using Mossy Meadow Classic Ink and cut it out using the framelit from the set.  Mat it on Sparkle Glimmer Paper large rectangle cut from the set.  Attach it to the card face using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Simple!

Wishing You Well - Elegant Seasons Greetings in Foil

Stampin’ UP! Silver Foil and 1/8” Real Red Ribbon

I love this set.  I’ve created several cards so simply and easily using this set and I’ll continue to use it.  It’s a beautifully simplistic set and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the detail in the bow.  It looks so real and three dimensional.  So I decided to create an elegant Holiday Card with a minimum of supplies and “work.”  (It’s never really work when you love what you do!”  Let’s get started...

Real Red

Step by Step:

• Start by cutting a 3 3/4” x 5” piece of Whisper White Card Stock and mount it on a 4” x 5 1/4” piece of Silver Foil.  Cut a 7” piece of 1/8” Real Red Solid Ribbon and secure it to the card face.
• Cut a 2 3/4” x 4” piece of Whisper White Card Stock.  Stamp the wreath in Pear Pizzazz Classic Ink and the bow in Real Red Classic Ink.
• Stamp the greeting in the center of the wreath in Real Read Classic Ink.  Mat this on a 3” x 4 1/4” piece of Silver Foil.  Attach this to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Simple!

Here’s another example of the the Snow Is Glistening stamp Set and Snowfall Thinlits Dies In action.  This time in tandem with my favorite background stamp.  And I love this color palette - light blues and greens.  Let’s get started...

Step by Step:

• Let’s start by cutting a 3 3/4” x 5” piece of Whisper White Card Stock.  Stamp the Buffalo Check background stamp using Balmy Blue Classic Ink.  Be careful to alight the stripes in the stamp with the edges of the card. 
• Using the tiniest snowflake in the Snow Is Glistening stamp set, stampin in the dark squares of the Buffalo Check image using VersaMark ink and heat emboss it with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder.
• Draw a Line in the vertical and horizontal white space of the Buffalo Check pattern using a Bermuda Bay Stampin’ Write Marker.  
• Draw a line on either side of the Bermuda Bay Lines with a Pear Pizzazz Stampin’ Write Marker.
• Mat the Buffalo Check background on a 4” x 5 1/4’ piece of Bermuda Bay card stock.
• I cut the large snowflake from the Myths & Magic Glimmer Paper that was part of the 2018 Occasions Catalog.  You can color the the Sparkle Glimmer Paper with a Sponge Dauber and any Classic Ink simply by dabbing the color on the snowflake.  Attach the snowflake to the card face using Multipurpose Liquid Glue very sparingly.
• Stamp the sentiment on a 1 1/4” x 2 1/2” piece of Whisper White Card stock using Bermuda Bay Classic Ink.  Mount it to the card face using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Simple!

Wishing You Well in Plaid

Stampin’ UP! Under The Mistletoe DSP and White Stampin' Emboss Powder

Okay, I promise this is the last card I post from the Wishing You Well stamp set.  (Finger's crossed)  I love this set - especially the bow.  And this really is quick and easy.  Coupling it with the Under The Mistletoe DSP creates a beautiful, slightly edgy card that lands somewhere in between country and modern.  Let's get started...

Step by Step:

• Let’s start by cutting a 3 3/4” x 5” piece of the DSP and matbit on a 4” x 5 1/4” piece of Night of Navy Card Stock.
• Cut a 3” square of Night of Navy Card Stock.  Using your Embossing Buddy, wipe down the card stock.  Stamp the image using VersaMark ink and heat emboss it with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. 
• Stamp the bow on Whisper White Card Stock using Real Red ink.  Fussy cut out the bow.and attach it to the wreath using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
• Attach the square to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
• Stamp the sentiment on Whisper White Card Stock using Old Olive Classic Ink and die cut it out using the Bunch of Banners die.  Mount it to the card face using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.   Simple!

Snow Is Glistening In Black & White

Stampin’ UP! Snowflake Showcase and Basic Jewels Rhinestones

Here’s another project using the Snowflake Showcase Stamp Set and Thinlits   If you follow my blog at all, you know I love the drama of black and white.  A snowflake is white...hmmmmm.  It was fate!  Add a little bling with Sparkle Glimmer Paper and Simple Rhinestone Jewels and you have the perfect black and white Holiday card.  Let’s get started...

Step by Step:

• Let’s start by cutting a 3 3/4” x 5” piece of Basic Black Card Stock.
• Wipe the card stick with a Stampin’ Buddy to decrease the stray Embossing Powder.  Step the image with VersaMark ink and heat emboss it using White Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  Mat it on a 4” x 5 1/4” of Sparkle Glimmer Paper and mountbit to the card base.
• Cut the large snowflake from Whisper White Card Stock and mountbitbto the Card front using Multipurpose Liquid Glue sparingly.  If this glue oozes out from the snowflake it will show on the Basic Black Card Stock...so use it sparingly!  Tip all the snowflake points with the small rhinestones.
• Cut the small snowflake from Sparkle Glimmer Paper.  Cut the snowflake from the back of the Glimmer Paper to preserve the cutting edge of the snowflake die.  Attach it to the card front with a single Stampin’ Dimensional in the center and then covervthencenter with a large Rhinestone. Simple!

Merry Farmhouse Christmas

Stampin’ UP! Farmhouse Christmas and Farmhouse Framelits

Here's a fun and easy card that's quick to make and literally screams Merry Christmas.  Using the Farmhouse Christmas stamp set and the Farmhouse Framelits you can create a traditional Christmas card right down to the picket fence . So let's get started...  

Real Red

Step by Step:

• Cut a 3 7/8" x 5 1/8" piece of Smoky Slate card stock. 
• Ink the Merry Christmas stamp using Real Red Classic Ink.  The, using a Blender Pen, remove the real Red Ink from the small print.  You'll need to constantly wipe the red ink from the Blender Pen or it will just redistribute the ink elsewhere.  Then color the small print using a Cal Me Clover Stampin' Write Marker.
• Cut the sentiment out using a Layering Circle.  Mount it on a Stitched Circle in Real Red.
• Die cut the banner in the Farmhouse Framelits set from Real Red card stock and cut it in half.  Glue the halves on the card front using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  Make sure they are level and close enough together to be covered by the Real Red Circle.
• Attach the sentiment using Stampin' Dimensionals.
• Die cut the fence out of Whisper White card stock.  Take a piece of 1/8" Real Red Solid Ribbon (I left mine on the spool and didn't cut it until I was done) and weave it between the fence posts.  Sparingly add Multipurpose Liquid Glue to the fence and glue it to the card front.
• Stamp five wreaths using Granny Apple Green Classic Ink and color the bows with a Real Red Stampin' Write Marker.  Die cut them out and attach them to the card face using Mini Stampin' Dimensionals.  Mat the card face on a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of Whisper White card stock and attach it to a Real Red card base.  Simple!

Stampin' UP! Galvanized Metallic Paper and Corrugated Dynamic Textured Embossing Folder 

Here I go again using the Corrugated Dynamic Textured Embossing Folder.  But isn't this a cool look on the Galvanized paper?  I wanted to try and stay in the rural mind set, and what's more rural and, frankly wintery, than red flannel?  Couple it with the classic pick-up truck and a wood sign slightly askew and you have a country Christmas to be proud of!  Let's get started...

Cherry Cobbler

Step By Step:

• Cut a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of plaid card stock from the Festive Farmhouse Designer Series Paper and attach it to your Crumb Cake card base.
• Cut a 2 3/4" x 4 1/4" piece of Galvanized Paper and run it through the Big Shot using the Corrugated Embossing Folder.  Using a Sponge Dauber, color the edges using Crumb Cake Classic Ink.  
• Stamp the truck image using Basic Gray Classic ink.  Color the image using Cherry Cobbler, Basic Gray, and Garden Green Watercolor Pencils.  Attach it to the Corrugated card stock using Stampin' Dimensionals.
• Stamp the sentiment in Cherry Cobbler Classic Ink on Crumb Cake card stock.  Cut it out usng the ticket corner die in the Farmhouse Framelits set.  Use a sponge dauber to add Crumb Cake Classic Ink to the edges.  Punch two holes using the 1/8" Hand Held Circle Punch.  Thread a 3 inch piece of Festive Farmhouse Cotton Twine from the back and tie a knot.  Don't pull it too tight or it will come through the hole.
• Using a Paper Piercing Tool, punch a hole through the Galvanized corrugated paper. Push a silver brad through the hole and loop the sign cotton thread around it before you spread the prongs on the back.  I started by placing the sign FACING the corrugated paper, and then twist it so that if faces toward the front.  Glue the sign in place using Mini Stampin' Dimensionals.  
• Attach it to the card front using Tear & Tape.  Simple!

Snowflake Showcase In Teal

Stampin’ Up! Snow Is Glistening and Stitched Labels Framelits

The new limited edition Snowflake Showcase collection is awesome.  Over the next few weeks I’ll be sharing some ideas using the stamps or Framelits...or BOTH!  The projects show how well these integrate into the many Framelits and Designer Series Papers available in both the Annual and Holiday catalogs.  And this card is the perfect example.  Here I’ve combined the Snow Is Glistening stamp Set and Snowfall Framelits from the Snowflake Showcase collection, the Stitched Shapes and Stitched Labels Framelits from the Annual Vatalog, and the Joyous Noel Specialty Designer Series Paper from the Holiday Catalog.  And the color palette is very unconventional with the use of Tranquil Tide - a teal shade of green.  And it works wonderfully.  Lets get started...

Step by Step:

• Start with a 3 3/4” x 5” piece of joyous Noel Specialty Designer Series Paper and punch out the corners using the Detailed Trio Punch. Mat it with a 4” x 5 1/4” piece of Tranquil Tide Card Stock.   
• Die cut the frame from a piece of Tranquil Tide Card Stock using the Stitched Labels Framelits and attach it directly to the card face. 
• Stamp the sentiment from the Snow Is Glistening limited edition stamp set on Whisper White Card Stock usingTranquil Tide Classic Ink. Die cut it out using the Stiched Shaped oval die and mount it over the Tranquil Tide frame using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
• Cut the snowflake from Sparkle Glimmer Paper and attach it to the card face using a single Dtampin’ Dimensional in the center of the snowflake.  Here’s a tip.  I always cut Glimmer Paper from the back.  I was told by Stampin’ UP! that it preserves the cutting edge of the Framelits and Thinlits.  That was after I cut several snowflakes from the front a few years ago and completely ruined the cutting edge.  Simple!

Stamp Review Crew - Festive Farmhouse

It's the third Monday of October and that means it's time for the Stamp Review Crew Hop. We are a group of Stampin' UP! demonstrators sharing a ton of ideas focused on a single stamp set. This week we're featuring the Festive Farmhouse stamp set.  You have likely come from Holly Krautkremer on your way through this amazing hop. This card was fun to create, albeit at bit involved, and reminds me of the decoration I used to see growing up in Michigan.  I wanted the lights to definitely be the focal point so the only things that are in color (other than the sentiment) are the lights.  Smoky Slate adds a nice neutral palette to make the lights "shine!"  Let's get started...

Step by Step:

• Start by cutting a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of Whisper White card stock.  Stamp the trees in Smoky Slate Classic Inkclose to the top of the card and evenly spaced across.
• Stamp a fourth tree on a 3" x 4" piece of Whisper White card stock.  Now take string of lights stamp and evenly stamp it over the crown of the tree using Smoky Slate ink.  Don't worry about some of the light string not being over the tree image.  Next we'll die cut the tree out so no one will know!  ;-)
• Take the piece of Whisper White card stock that you just die cut the tree from and position it over one of the trees you first stamped on the card face.  This will serve as a mask so you can stamp the light strings as you did on the tree you just die cut out.  Using a Stampin' Write Marker, color the lights evenly on all three trees.
• Using an Aqua Painter, take some diluted Smoky Slate ink and lightly color in all the tree trunks.
• Next take the Swirly Scribbles Embossing folder and position it so it only embosses from the tree trunks to the bottom of the card.  You'll do this by placing the area of the card you don't want embossed outside the embossing folder.
• Using Smoky Slate ink, stamp the farm house on a piece of light woodgrain card stock from the Festive Farmhouse Designer Series Paper.  (You could also use woodgrain paper from the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper Stack) . Stamp the light strings on the front of the farm house and color them in. Color in the windows with Crushed Curry ink and the roof line and porch posts using Smoky Slate.  Die cut the house out and attach it to the card front with the trees using Stampin' Dimensionals.
• Cut a 5 1/4" x 2" piece of Whisper White card stock and run it through the Big Shot using the Swirls & Scribbles embossing folder.  Fussy cut the snow line out using one of the embossed images as a guide.  Attach this to the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals.
• Attach the die cut tree to the card face using Stampin' Dimensionals.
• Stamp the sentiment using Real Red Classic Ink on the same wood grain DSP and die cut it out using the Bunch of Banners Framelits.  Attach it to the face of the card using Tear & Tape.
• Mat the card face on a 4 1/8" x 5 3/8" piece of Real Red Card stock and mount it to the card base.  Simple!
