Stampin’ UP! Heartwarming Hugs and Stampin’ Blends
It's the first Monday of December (17 more shopping days left) and that means it's time for the Stamp Review Crew. We are a group of Stampin' UP! demonstrators sharing a ton of ideas focused on a single stamp set. This week we're featuring the stamp set Gnome For The Holidays. You have likely come from Kelly Kent’s My Papercrafting Journey on your way through this amazing hop. If you get lost, simply click on the banner for a list of participants and get back on track.
This was such a fun card to make. The only thing I’d do differently is I’d create the inside of the card on a separate piece of cardstock and glue it inside the card after it was complete so the Blends bleed-through didn’t show on the back of the card.
I laid out the card front so the door in the stump would be high enough to show the tree hat in the inside of the card by positioning it on the card front before I stamped the tree image. After I stamped the image I used a craft knife to cut out the door leaving the light bulb in place. Then I colored the image.
I glued the card front created above on the Heartwarming Hugs DSP and used a craft knife to cut out the door opening in the DSP.
I glued the card front to the card base and used a craft knife to cut out the door opening in the card base.
With the card closed I lightly traced the door opening onto the inside of the card. That was a guide so I’d know where to position the Christmas tree.
I stamped the tree hat gnome inside positioning it over the traced image. It actually sounds more difficult than it really is.
How cute Mike. I love the peek through part and the cute surprise inside. x

Love this card! What a creative imagination you have to figure out the whole door and Christmas tree idea! I want to copy this card, it is so cool.

Oh my gosh Mike awesome! Love how you have the tree poking through the front of the card brilliant and adorable. I did that once too the blends bleed through so that's a bummer. I put a piece of colored card stock on the back of my card so the card was still salvageable.
