Stampin’ UP! Wrapped In Christmas and Heartwarming Hugs DSP
It's the third Monday of October and that means it's time for the Stamp Review Crew. We are a group of Stampin' UP! demonstrators sharing a ton of ideas focused on a single stamp set. This week we're featuring the stamp set Wrapped In Christmas. You have likely come from Cindy Elam on your way through this amazing hop. If you get lost, simply click on the banner for a list of participants and get back on track.
This stamp set is a sentiment stamp set, so there’s not a lot you can do to create unique cards unless you rely on something else to pair with it. I chose to use Stampin’ UP!’s Heartwarming Hugs Designer Series Paper and the color palette of Real Red, Pear Pizzazz, and Mossy Meadow used in the DSP.
This style is a tried and true design for integrating Designer Series Paper. But in the creation of this card traditionally there’s a lot of waste because of all the layers. So I decided to use one quarter sheet of card stock and one 4” x 6” sheet of DSP. The first pic below shows the backs of the layers so you can see where they came from. And the second pic shows the fronts of the layers.
The second card was the easiest card to make thanks to the Stitched Triangles in the 2020-21 Annual Catalog and the Wrapped In Texture Embossing Folder.
The last card was probably the most difficult. I never realized it was so hard to weave small pieces of paper. Just an FYI, the candy striped frame was left over from my first card! I got a lot of mileage out of the 4” x 6” piece of DSP.
Super fun cards - they will brighten someone's Christmas for sure! Kelly x

And, of course, I love the card with the woven strips the most, but they are all lovely and unique!

Great cards Mike! I laughed about the weaving it is not easy I've found out to but what a great way to use up the scraps.
