Stampin’ Up! Up & Away and Celebrate You Thinlits #FF0016
This is my first time playing with the #festivefridaychallenge. I love the Lift Me Up stamp set and thought this was the perfect opportunity to get into a new challenge - especially since it’s with my dear friends Ann and Nicole.
‘Whenever I see the words Lift Me Up, I think the Josh Groban song “You Lift Me Up.’ Talk about inspiration...
When I see a Designer Series Paper I like, I tend to NOT use it! Such was the case with Year of Cheer Specialty Designer Series Paper from the 2017 Holiday Catalog. So towards the end of 2017 I purchased several packages of this glorious stuff so I could use it guilt-free. And if you know me or my style you know I love the monochromatic look. Does all foil count as monochromatic?
Step by Step Tips:
- My card base is a 5 1/2” x 8 1/2” piece of The Year of Cheer Specialty Designer Series Paper. This paper works great as a base because it’s a heavier weight card stock and the back was white.
- I used Silver Foil to cut out the balloon outline and the clouds. The Copper Foil was used for the balloon and basket backings and the Celebrate sentiment. In the past I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere the backing to the balloon. But the Silver Foil is very unforgiving when you get any white glue on it. It can ruin the whole project. So I first backed the Silver Foil with our Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets. That way I was able to simply press the Copper Foil pieces in place! Simple!
Here’s a tip...if you do get the Multipurpose Liquid Glue on the foil, simply moisten a piece of paper towel with Stampin’ Mist Stamp Cleaner and gentle rub the glue off the foil finish. It works like a charm! I just discovered that. But the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets are much easier.
Oh my gosh! I am loving this monochromatic foil look, Mike! What a great tip about using the adhesive sheets! Thanks for sharing at Festive Friday! Hugs!

Ooh! I love all the metallics! The Adhesive sheets were a must for this one for sure! I just love that paper too. I'm glad to see that there's still some available on the Clearance Rack - I might have to swoop up another pack! Thanks for playing along at Festive Friday, my friend! I hope to see you back there soon :D
