Stampin’ UP! Tropical Escape DSP and Layering Ovals Framelits
It's the third Monday of August and that means it's time for the Stamp Review Crew Hop. We are a group of Stampin' UP! demonstrators sharing a ton of ideas focused on a single stamp set. This week we're featuring the Varied Vases Set and Punch. You have likely come from Linda Callahan on your way through this amazing hop. If you get lost, simply click on the banner for a list of participants and get back on track.
Of course I L-O-V-E this stamp set. It has a great selection of vases and vegetation to pair together. But this is Suppose to be a TON of ideas, so I really wanted to think out of the box and come p with something a little different. So I looked at the vases and asked myself what this could ALSO be. I thought of flower petals, borders, gardens, lamps...WAIT! LAMPS! And I’m really into Midcentury Modern design. Let’s do that!
Step by Step Tips:
- I cut the card face the same size as the card base - a 5 1/2” x 4 1/4” piece of Wood Textured DSP to it. I mounted a 5 1/4” x 4” piece of Garden Impressions DSP to it. I thought it had a very Midcentury Modern look to it.
- i added two “shelves” from the same wood DSP.
- The most involved lamp was the hanging lamp created from the Layering Ovals Thinlits and multiple pieces punched from the Vase Builder Punch. A 1/2” Dimensional created the bulb and the chain was the border stamp from this set stamped twice in VersaMark and Silver Embossing Powder.
- One lamp was created with Lemon Lime Twist card stock and one was Bermuda Bay Ink stamped on Whisper White card stock.
- The Lemon Lime Twist lampshade was a piece of the same DSP I used for the background. And the stem is a narrow piece of Wood Textures DSP.
- The Bermuda Bay lampshade is a piece of vellum run through the Big Shot using the Subtle Dynamic Embossing Folder with a 1/2”circle of Whisper White. Simple!
Next stop on the hop is Adriana Benitez where
she'll wow you with her beautiful design skills.
