It's the third Monday of July and that means it's time for the Stamp Review Crew Hop. We are a group of Stampin' UP! demonstrators sharing a ton of ideas focused o3n a single stamp set. This week we're featuring the Lemon Zest stamp set. You have likely come from Mickey Roberts on your way through this amazing hop. If you get lost, simply click on the banner for a list of participants and get back on track.
I had mixed emotions about this set when I first saw it. I was thrilled that it was supported by a punch because, let’s face it, for mere simplicity a punch is so much easier to use than a Thinlit. But the set itself didn’t seem to offer that much flexibility. Well I’m sure this hop is proving me wrong! And the Nature’s Poem Designers Series Paper pack works so well with the leaves. I opted to create a somewhat monochromatic front with LOTS OF TEXTURE! So let’s get started...
Step by Step Tips:
- I started by cutting a 4” x 5 1/4” piece of the DSP and rounding the corners with the Detailed Trio Punch.
- The lemons are inked with Soft Suede Classic Ink and stamped off on the Burlap stamp. The same technique was used on the leaves.
- Then I cut a 2 1/2” x 3 1/2” piece of Very Vanilla card stock and stamped the sentiment using Old Olive Classic Ink. Round the corners. I ran it through the Big Shot using the Subtle 3D Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. (Light mist the card stock for more detail)
- The lemon Slice is in Daffodil Delight Classic Ink and I used Old Olive Classic Ink for the leaves.
- The inside uses a burst of Daffodil Delight images full strength and stamped off. Simple!
Next stop on the hop is Charlet Mallett where
she'll wow you with her beautiful design skills.

Now that's a bit clever Mike. I love the textured fruit. So creative.

I positively ADORE all the textures on this card, Mike, and the rounded corners on the sentiment that mimic the rounded corners on the DSP. I keep forgetting about stamping off on a texture stamp - so may techniques, so little time (and space in my brain, lol).

Wow, Mike this is a fun take on this set! It reminds me of a sepia photo with a highlighted area on it in that single lemon!!
