It's the third Monday of May and that means it's time for the Stamp Review Crew Hop. We are a group of Stampin' UP! demonstrators sharing a ton of ideas focused on a single stamp set. This week we're featuring the Sweet Cupcake stamp set. You have likely come from Dawn Tidd on your way through this amazing hop. If you get lost, simply click on the banner for a list of participants and get back on track.
This is a bitter sweet hop for me. This is one of my favorite stamp sets, and it's retiring at the end of this month. I love the 3D effect with the 3 step stamping and the frosting flavor is only restricted by your imagination! The Framelits are also retiring as is the amazing Designer Series Paper. So if you haven't purchased these, they're still available. I decided to dot the "I" in "Wish" with the candle flame. The color palette in this DSP is so rich and the gold foil is the cherry on the sundae.
Step by Step Tips:
- Both the frosting and the cup were created using the same technique. I used the highest detail stamp full strength. The second and third layers were stamped off once before adding to the first.
- Wish was held on to the card face by using White Multipurpose Glue VERY sparingly (I just dotted it on) and gently positioning it. I think this is the first time I was able to do that without getting any glue on the foil which is impossible to remove.
- The frosting and the flame are popped up using Dimensionals! Simple!
Next stop on the hop is Nikki Spencer where
she'll wow you with her beautiful design skills.
Ohhhh, YUM! This really looks good enough to eat. Clever of you to line the candle up with the i and use the flame for the dot. And you lined up the three-step stamping perfectly! That’s something I struggle with. Beautifully done!

Fabulous card Mike! I am sad it is going too. It's perfect with the dsp too.

Mike, I feel your pain! This is an awesome stamp set, and I will miss it in the new catty. But you are certainly giving it a fabulous send off! Love that you used the candle to accentuate the "I"!

Pretty, pretty card, Mike! The gold in the DSP remind me of candle glow. Love that you used that DSP with the cupcake. This is one of my favorites too...it will be missed for sure!
