It's the frst Monday of March and that means it's time for the Stamp Review Crew. We are a group of Stampin' UP! demonstrators sharing a ton of ideas focused on a single stamp set. This week we're featuring the High Tide Photopolymer Stamp Set. You have likely come from Jay Soriano on your way through this amazing hop. I've missed y'all! Luck of the draw the last couple of hops and I didn't get the stamps sets that have been featured. But I have this one. This is a fun set with which to work, and I took no time in creating two VERY DIFFERENT cards.
The first one is a classic black and white one. It's hard to see but the searchlight and the ripples twinkle thanks to one of our retired embossing powders called Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder. I love the way it makes them sparkle.
The second, a Clean and Simple primary color card, comes together easily and packs a punch. Let's get started...
Step by Step Tips:
Shine
- The monochromatic cards is created on Smoky Slate card stock matted with Basic Black.
- The lighthouse is created from Smoky Slate and Basic Gray Classic Ink.
- The sand is Smoky Slate Classic Ink and the grass is Basic Gray Classic Ink.
- The spotlight and ripples are VersaMark ink and Iridescent Ice embossing powder, but I think the same effect could be created mixing equal parts of clear embossing powder and silver glitter. Just be careful to apply the heat sparingly as the glitter can easily melt.
The Light You Shine
- This card is A LOT of Whisper White card stock. The card face is Whisper White card stock embossed using - what else for a lighthouse - the Seaside Embossing Folder.
- The blue light house is Marina Mist and Pacific Point Classic Ink and the red one is Real Red and Cherry Cobbler Classic Ink
- The sentiment is stamped on a pennant created with the Banner Triple punch using Real Red and Pacific Point Classic Ink. Stamp it twice. Cut out the Real Red and overlay it on the Pacific Point.
- Everything is popped up using Dimensionals. Simple!
Next stop on the hop is the Queen of Pearl - Ann Schach where
she'll wow you with her beautiful design skills.
Beautiful cards, Mike! I LOVE the Iridescent Ice on the first card. It was always one of my favorite embossing powders. I bet this is so sparkly in person! Your second card is bold and beautiful. I LOVE the bright colors!

The black and white card is stunning! I love the detail you achieved with such a limited color palette. And the sparkle, oh the sparkle!
Your second card is wonderful also. Love the waves embossed in the background.

I think the added Iridescent Ice on the first card takes it from beautiful to FABULOUS - I love little details like that! The second card feels so patriotic to me with the red, white, and blue; LOVE it!

Both cards are fabulous, Mike! The primary one is so vibrant, but I love a good neutral monochromatic card. Great choice!
