Stampin' UP! Hearth & Home Thinlits and
Softly Falling Embossing Folder
It's the third Monday of the month and that means it's time for the Stamp Review Crew. We are a group of Stampin' UP! demonstrators sharing a ton of ideas focused on a single stamp set. This week we're featuring the Spooky Cat Bundle. You have likely come from Sue Plote on your way through this amazing hop. If you get lost, simply click on the banner for a list of participants and get back on track.
Okay, I get it! Halloween is a really fun holiday. You get to dress up, scare people AND eat candy! What's not to like? Do you know more people decorate for Halloween than ANY other holiday? But I've always had a tough time justifying buying a Halloween stamp set. Unless I can discover other ways to use it. Enter Spooky Cat. This is intentionally a Halloween set, but I'm a cat owner (see pic) so justifying this was no problem. PLUS the Spooky Night DSP goes so well and even has two sheets of cat prints that can be perfectly punched out using the Cat Punch.
So here are my cards for Spooky Cat. Merry Christmas! (and no Dr Seuss jokes please!)
Step by Step Tips:
- Smoky Slate on Smoky Slate, Basic Gray on Basic Gray, Hardwood vertical and horizontal, Spooky Night DSP
- I cut a 4"x5 1/4" piece of Basic Gray card stock. I stamped it with Basic Gray ink and die cut the window. Then I used the reverse side of the Basic Gray card stock for the mat for the Smoky Slate Woodgrain stamp.
Step by Step Tips:
- Hardwood embossed in Copper on Spooky Nights DSP, Layering Ovals, Copper Foil
- I might mention that Copper Embossing Powder over the DSP with the Hardwood background stamp is gorgeous! The pic doesn't do it justice!
Step by Step Tips:
- Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder on Very Vanilla card stock, Hearth & Home Thinlits on Softly Falling Embossing Folder, 1/8" Real Red Solid Ribbon, Gold Metallic Thread, Gold Foil, Stitched Shapes Thinlits
All Simple!
Next stop on the hop is Cindy Elam where
she'll wow you with her beautiful design skills.
All three of these projects are amazing. I love the Halloween cat in the hat with the rat on the windowsill. Beautiful little scene.

Adorable projects, Mike! Thanks for the ideas on how to use this stamp set outside of Halloween! Stamp sets are an investment and it's nice to use them year round instead of just one month a year!

Love the cat christmas card and the gray tones on the first card. Of course the owl is fantastic as well!

Love the kitty on the Christmas card. I do not buy Halloween stamps and usually make do with paper and handmade cards. You know, cutting out witch hats, using straw for brooms, lol. But I do make/fill wicked bags for the Grands and the kids in the neighbourhood.
Thank you for the photo of your furbabies.
And, the owl card is spectacular....love owls almost as much as cats!! Will use your wonderful ideas.

Wow Mike you really were on a creative roll! I had a special black kitty in my life named Vader so I especially love both kitty cards.

Holy cow (or should I say kitty), Mike! Copper embossed wood grain over DSP--that's another level of awesome! Your kitties are just adorable!

Love your creative ideas......being a cat lover, we are co-loving a kitten with our next door neighbor's....her name is Oreo! She is loving and loves to be loved, even when I am doing yard work!!! We used to have an all black rescuer cat, named Onyx😏😕❤️, or Ony-Cat! At least we have a near daily visitor cat! I too love this set but love Halloween and I do decorate for mist Holidays!!! Have a good week and thanks for your inspiration!

Oh my gosh! It doesn't get any better than the Christmas card, Mike! It is beautiful, and truly shows the versatility of this set! The collar is the cat's meow! Great cards, my friend!
