Stampin' UP! Holiday Catalog
It's the third Monday of the month and that means it's time for the Stamp Review Crew. We are a group of Stampin' UP! demonstrators sharing a ton of ideas focused on a single stamp set. This week we're featuring the Merry Cafe stamp set and coordinating Coffee Cups Framelits. You have likely come from Linda Callahan on your way through this amazing hop. If you get lost, simply click on the banner for a list of participants and get back on track.
If you're anything like me, some stamps sets just speak to you...they fill your thoughts with tons of options for using them. This is one of those sets for me. In fact, when I first saw the original set from the 2017-2018 Annual Catalog called Coffee Cafe, I wasn't particularly excited. But then when I saw Merry Cafe in the Holiday Catalog, I had to have both sets - AND the framelits.
One thing you'll notice about Stampin' UP! is that most time their Designer Series Papers cross over to coordinate with stamp sets. An although there is no specific stamp set listed to coordinate with Merry Cafe, you'll see tons of opportunities to use them. That's why when we have a sale on DSP, it's always a great idea to stock up! Over the coming months you'll see many samples from me using this set and some coordinating DSP. How do I know? Because I've already made them all! Woohoo, I'm finally ahead of the game!
Step by Step Tips:
-
I had already pretty much decided on what I was going to do for this hop. Then this morning I walked into my local Starbucks and that all changed. How perfect is this leaf shaped gift card for the Merry Cafe set? So I started there...
- The Painted Autumn DSP is gorgeous with many different designs. I especially like the small designs because I think they're more flexible for cards, but I had no problem incorporating the pumpkin design into THIS project. I stamped the image on the DSP and die cut it out.
- The edges of the cup and the band were darkened with a sponge and Early Espresso - there's that coffee theme again! The sentiment is on Peekaboo Peach and the lid is Tangerine Tango.
- I slightly curved the cup/band component to make it easier to slip that gift card inside the cup. Simple!
Next stop on the hop is Yapha Mason where
she'll wow you with her beautiful design skills.
Love how you worked the colors of the gift card into the design of your project, Mike; and the Painted Autumn DSP is an amazing match for the gift card.

Mike, I love this card. The minute I saw it I knew I'd have to give it a try for my favorite Barista's at Star Bucks. They will love it. But I do have a question, what stamp set/die did the leaf come from?
Thank Q for sharing your amazing creativity

Okay I have to admit, I was looking at that leaf and wondering how you got the Starbucks logo on it before I read your description, LOL. How perfect for this hop! And all the elements match it perfectly, too. Love it!
