Stampin' UP! Crafting Forever & Be Merry DSP
It's the first Monday of the month and that means it's time for the Stamp Review Crew. We are a group of Stampin' UP! demonstrators sharing a ton of ideas focused on a single stamp set. This week we're featuring the Crafting Forever stamp set. You have likely come from Kelly Kent on your way through this amazing hop. If you get lost, simply click on the banner for a list of participants and get back on track.
It's wonderful that my first time posting after an involuntary five month sabbatical is with The Stamp Review Crew. In my last post I told you that Rick and I were selling our home of 22 years and moving to a brand new home about 5 miles away. The move is complete and although I'm still unpacking boxes I was determined to participate in these hops. So here it goes...
It's surprising how many stamp sets go overlooked as Holiday stamp sets. This set is no exception. Change out to the Be Merry Designer Series Paper and it becomes a Holiday card. But don't go looking for this DSP in our new Holiday Catalog released four days ago. It was right under our nose in the current Annual Catalog. It's a great mix of small prints and solid patterns that can be used in all of your Holiday creations. And after all I believe we all should “Do something creative every day.”
Step by Step Tips:
- The image was stamped in Basic Gray. I tried Basic Black but it was too harsh. I pulled the color palette from the Be Merry DSP so the pot is Cherry Cobbler and the brush tips are Garden Green. When you watercolor the image be sure to dilute the ink with ample water so it doesn't hide the details of the stamped image. I used my Aqua Painter.
- The Image is wrapped in Gold Thread and knotted in the back. Then I tied a simple bow and attached it with a small drop of Multipurpose Liquid Glue. The sentiment is stamped in Garden Green on a circle cut from the Stitched Shapes Framelits. Simple!
Next stop on the hop is Charlet Mallett where
she'll wow you with her beautiful design skills.
Welcome back! I'm so glad you were able to get back into the swing of it. Awesome card and love seeing these images with Holiday papers and colors. Thanks for sharing.

First off - congrats to you and Rick on your new place! How exciting!!
Thanks for sharing the idea to make this a holiday themed card. One of my Christmas wishes/prayers would be to be able to do something creative everyday, so this definitely works!! ;)

Love your card and envelope! I would have never thought to use that set. It works wonderfully with the paper and everything. Great job. Missing your posts. Hows the new home? It was great to see the three older cards again as I loved each one!

Mike, this is brilliant! And so glad you are getting settled enough to come back to stamping! I know what chaos it is to move (we did it across country exactly two years ago).
