It's the third Monday of the month and that means it's time for the Stamp Review Crew. We are a group of Stampin' UP! demonstrators sharing a ton of ideas focused on a single stamp set. This week we're featuring the Cool Treats stamp set and coordinating Frozen Treats Thinlits dies. You have likely come from Debra Burgin on your way through this amazing hop. If you get lost, simply click on the banner for a list of participants and get back on track.
I apologize for not posting much this past few months. We're in the process of selling our home after 22 years, and moving to a brand spankin' new home a few miles away. Our current home was built in 1953 - mid century modern. But with that comes all the issues that a 64 year old home has. We're ready for a change. But soon my Stampin' UP! goodies will be out of reach for a while, so I needed to post several options for this hop.
I've never really been fond of ice cream stamp sets. I can assure you that is NOT the case for this set. I guess I never thought of them as very versatile. Okay, so I was wrong - at least for the Cool Treats set. I had no issues coming up with three very different designs. And this set is part of a bundle with the coordinating Frozen Treats Framelits dies saving you 10%. Who doesn't love saving money? So let's get started using three different techniques. Let the fun begin!
Step by Step Tips:
- The instructions for each of these cards is quite different, so I thought I would give you some tips on each of the creations. The above card was created using a masking technique. Using Watermelon Wonder I stamped the front row of the Popsicles leaving a small space between each.
- I then stamped the image of the popsicle on two separate post it notes and cut them out.
- Using the masks I covered up two Popsicles at a time, and stamped between them using Tangerine Tango.
- Repeat the above step two more times using Calypso Coral and Flirty Flamingo.
- Wild Wasabi was my accent green color.
Step by Step Tips:
- The color palette is what I would like to share with you for the above card. The ice cream cone was created using first a stamped off Crushed Curry, and then Crushed Curry full strength.
- The stamped off technique was used again using soft suede, and then full strength soft suede for the ice cream.
- The word "You're" was created with white embossing powder, and the accent to the right was created using Gold Glimmer paper.
- Spoiler alert!! I've seen the new catalog! You will love what is coming in the adhesive section to adhere fine Thinlits diecuts. Check out page 205 in the new catalog! There is also a chart identifying which of Stampin' UP!'s adhesive's should be used for different types of material. Perfect!
Step by Step Tips:
- I wanted this card to highlight the cherry. After all, that's what the sentiment says. So I created the cherry using Red Glimmer Paper and Wild Wasabi ink.
- All the other ink is basic black.
- The ice cream dish was created using vellum card stock and the Cable Knit 3-D Dynamic Textured Imptpressions embossing folder and the Lots of Labels Framelits.
- Another spoiler alert!! You will love the new dynamic embossing folders in the new catalog. Stunning! And....Simple!
Next stop on the hop is Betty Traciak where
she'll wow you with her beautiful design skills.
