It's the 1st Monday of the month and that means it's time for the Stamp Review Crew. We are a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators focused on sharing a ton of ideas featuring a single stamp set. This week it's a set called Lighthearted Leaves. This is a second stamp set that, when paired with the Leaflets Framelits, creates beautiful fall leaves that look like their hand clipped! You have likely come from Holly Krautkremer's blog on your way through this amazing hop. If you get lost, simply click on the banner for a list of participants and get back on track.
There's something about nature that draws me in. That's probably why I love our mountain retreat so. This is a beautiful time of year up there. There's a crispness in the air and the fragrance of falling leaves is intoxicating. It takes me back to my childhood In Michigan. This particular project started very symmetrical, believe it or not! The leaf was on an angle on a perfectly square piece of card stock. Then I just started hacking away. I kind of like it! Also check this card out made with the same set!
- I won't give you measurements on this card because frankly I don't think I could. I will mention that soon I will only be posting my complete instructions in my newsletter which will result in a much more compact post. So be sure you're signed up for it.
- The orange leaf was first heat embossed using gold embossing powder on Daffodil Delight card stock. Then I cut a stencil using vellum with the Leaflets Framelits die. I took a sponge dauber and lightly colored the inside of the stencil using Pumpkin Pie Classic ink. Be sure to take a tissue and wipe off the excessive ink BEFORE you remove the stencil. The ink stays wet longer on heat embossing and can cause a real mess on the light yellow paper. take it from one who knows!
- My Pear Pizzazz card front received a heat embossed gold leaf image which was highlighted using Pear Pizzazz Classic Ink. Remember the tissue! Simple!
Next stop on the Hop is Martha Inchley where she'll wow you with her beautiful design skills.

Oh, Mike! I love anything that adds a bit of angle and fun...and you've done it perfectly! Every technique adds something great...the black mats, embossing and sponging. Everything is just great!

I was going to say just what Linda said about the black background, Mike, it looks fantastic! This was a fun way to use this set in an entirely different way with a great outcome!
