Stampin'Up! Seasonally Scattered and Pleasant Poppies
It's Thursday and that means it's time for the Pals Paper Arts challenge. This week it's another color challenge, and what a gorgeous color palette for fall it is. But there's one problem here in Palm Springs. The only thing we see this time of year in this color palette are lemons and grapefruit, palm leaves and cactus, and California Poppies. Since none of these are the traditional fall we're all used to, I decided to do a mash up of fall colors with a California attitude!
Step by Step Tips:
- I started by stamping the Thanks image in Olive Green on Whisper White card stock. I stamped it a second time on a piece of scrap paper and trimmed the top away following the tops of the letters and then tapering down,
- Apply a thin bead of 2-way Glue Pen to the back side of the mask you just created along the top edge and allow this to dry COMPLETELY. This creates the same tacky surface you'd find with a Post It Note. Place the mask over the first stamped image matching the patterns.
- Now stamp the Pleasant Poppies image on top making sure ithe image is centered and the tops of the poppies are on the card stock. Nothing worse than a bunch of stems. (Unless of course your one of the Adams Family!)
- Take your AquaPainter and carefully grab ink from the lids of your ink pads to color the poppies.
- Use light coats and build color to avoid rippling paper or smeared image lines. Simple!
Gorgeous!

Beautiful! I love this! By the way, I had snow flurries all day here in eastern Ky. The rooftops are coated. We are cold! Frost has killed all of my flowers, so I enjoyed yours...on the card. I used the aqua painter today on the new cardinals.

Mike, this is stunning! I absolutely love it. I'm a California native so the poppies have always been a favorite of min. Your combination of the two images is so beautiful.

LOL love your attitude! Beautiful card. We don't have much 'changing' of the leaves here either. So when I got my in color inks. I played for days! Then I got a new real red pad and added that to the mix. Just like fall in New England! That's what I miss the most. But they can have the cold, snow and ice. Maybe I should send an email about what happened the first time. I spent days with bloody looking hands! Lol
Big hugs Jess
