Stampin' Up! Holiday Invitation & Wonderous Wreath
It's Sunday and time for another wonderous creation from the Design Team of the Paper Players. This week is a sketch challenge hosted by Jaydee. One of the things I like most about any type of challenge is that it does just that - challenges me! However with this particular challenge I had already created the two main components long before I saw the challenge. Wonderous Wreath is such a versatile stamp set, not just for Christmas, but for many holidays. All you have to do is use the appropriate colors. After all we see wreaths on doors year round representing the season. It's time to go “scary” with this stamp set.
- My web background was created using the spider web image from the “Bite Me” photopolymer stamp set (134622). I inked the image with Silver Metallic ink and then stamped it off before stamping it on Basic Black card stock.
- My background lattice was created by using the Hardwood background stamp in Basic Gray on Smokey Slate card stock. It was cut into narrow strips and the edges of each strip were shaded using a Sponge Dauber to give each strip a separate identity. They were then woven together and glued to the web background using a 2-Way Glue Pen.
- The wreath was stamped ON Pumpkin Pie card stock WITH Pumpkin Pie ink. If you look really hard you'll see Daydream Medallions on the wreath along with the accent leaves - both stamped in Basic Black.
- The sentiment and spider were stamped on Blackberry Bliss card stock using Silver Metallic ink. The spider is given a little personality using my Old Olive Blendability marker! Simple!
Mike, this is spook-tacular!! I love the lattice fence you created using the woodgrain stamp. I plan to order this stamp very soon and will be writing down your idea in my inspiration book so I don't forget. The wreath is dynamite too!

Wow! That says it all: Wow! I love the way you've drawn together all those elements for such a wonderful card, Mike. Your woven woodgrain strips give a real illusion of crosses. The spiders and spider webs? Perfect! I agree, that wreath is a wreath for all seasons, depending on how you put it together and the colours you use. TFS

OMG!! As in 'oh my goodness' ;O)
I normally don't do Hallowe'en cards (lazy I guess), but this I'm going to do!!! Another great use for the wreath set....
I do big bags of goodies and I do stamp the bags. Do about 20 for the Grands and neighbourhood Kids.

WOW! Spectacular. I would never have thought too I use the Medallions stamp behind the wreath. But is sure makes the wreath full. I don't make Halloween cards very often. But Mason and Hailey are getting old enough to enjoy mail. This is just well, like I said ;-) Thanks for sharing my friend. Hug, Jess
