Gorgeous pix Mike. I always love being able to 'go along' with you. I have only one question... Do you dream in SU colors too? lol
Oddly enuf, their colors make it much easier to 'see/understand' the images. TFS Hugs, Jess

Great post, Mike and nice to hear that your cabin is safe and sound. I love the photos. It's always fun to see the terrain in other areas of the country!

Mike,
Thank you for sharing wonderful photos of part of your world.

Margaret

I loved your gorgeous photos, and especially hearing your cabin was spared. When I was a teenager we lived in Banning, and used to go hiking around there.

I'm glad to hear from you that you Rick, and your cabin are well. What breath-taking photos you are sharing! My husband grows rare and unusual conifers here in Cincinnati, where he has just a tiny nursery. I go along for the ride, but I know what plants I like. We are both members of the American Conifer Society. Are you? We are having a Conifer Weekend in Cincinnati this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday with private garden tours, The Stanley Rowe Arboretum tour, a cook out, and a plant auction. We travel all over for these meets. If you are not a member, you can join online at the ACS website. We would love to include you! Now get back to your gorgeous, inspiring cards! Thank you for sharing your hike...Nancy B

Wonderful! Thanks for sharing the photos and hiking story. I had heard about the Ernie Maxwell Trail either in the news of the fire or some how. Thanks for the laugh about the colors! So glad you retreat was spared and you are able to enjoy it!

Michael ~ How wonderful for you to share your home with us and take us on a virtual trek on the Ernie Maxwell Scenic Trail. Gorgeous! Thank you for including the awe-inspiring photos and also the map for us geo-nuts. As soon as I saw the Manzanita (also the name of a town on the Oregon coast) stump, I just KNEW you were going to describe it with SU! colors. We all do that all the time! Talk about immersing ourselves in our joy of work! Once again, we love you and are glad that you and Rick's Camelot has been spared.

Glad to hear you were able to dodge the fires, Mike. Thanks for sharing the photos. What a gorgeous trail. Reminds me a bit of the Appalachian trail in the mountains of Georgia.
