Stampin' Up! First Day & Matchbox Die
Welcome to the August PALS HOP! This month, we're featuring projects that are 3-D or three dimensional! If you've hopped over from Kris KilKoyne, kween bee kreations, I'm stop number 9 on the PALS HOP and I'm glad you hopped in! I'll help you "hop along" from blog to blog where you'll find inspirational ideas for papercrafted creations from the Stampin' Pretty Pals! Should you hop off course, simply click the PALS HOP LINE-UP and you'll be back on track! What better way to send some one off to their first day of school than with this little book? I mean who wouldn't want to head off to school armed with chocolate?! The minute I saw the First Day set I knew I had to make something unique. Here we go...
Stamp Sets -
Ink -
- VersaMark® (102283)
- Poppy Parade Classic (119782)
- StazOn® Jet Black Ink Pad (101406)
Paper -
- Crumb Cake Card Stock (120953)
- Poppy Parade Card Stock (119794)
Accessories -
- Whisper White 1/4“ Grosgrain Ribbon (109025)
- Silver Stampin' Emboss Powder (109131)
- SNAIL Adhesive (104332)
Tools -
- Matchbox Die (114890 - Stampin' Up! exclusive)
- Heat Tool (1000050
- I have to give you measurements here. There's no getting around that. The cover to convert the matchbox into a book consists of a 6 1/2” x 4“ piece of Poppy Parade. Two pieces of chipboard 2 1/4” x 3“ and one piece of chipboard 7/8” x 3“ create the core for the book cover. Glue all pieces to the Poppy Parade leaving 1/2“ from all edges and 1/16” between pieces.
- Stamp all designs on the pieces while they are flat before you assemble them. It's nearly impossible to stamp this project after it's assembled.
- The ribbon holds the cover down and the candy from sliding out - fashion vs. function!
- I lined the inside covers with Crumb cake cut the same size as the chipboard in the first bullet.

Great Idea Mike! My mom would rather have chocolate than almost anyother meal including breakfast. It won't be too much longer I'll have to hide it and ration it out!
