When Stampin' Up! let demonstrators get a sneak peek at the new Holiday Mini catalog, I was fascinated by the Sweet Centers stamp set. I thought it was such a novel idea to incorporate candy in a card! Then we found out that the Sweet Treat cups had adhesive that required they be affixed to the card. Oh no! All my hard work would have to be destroyed to get at that candy. I DON'T THINK SO!
So I devised a technique to still use the Sweet Treat cups but the card would remain intact long after the candy was a memory. And maybe even add some back in! The "Eek you're sweet!" decor on the front of the card actually serves as a tab to access the candy from the inside of the card. Here's how I did it...
- Stamp the “Eek you’re sweet!” image and cut out. Do not remove the center.
- Cut out a 2 ¾” x 3” square of contrasting paper to use as a mat. This will allow approximately 1/8” border around the stamped image. Do not affix the mat to the stamped image yet.
- Position the 1 3/8” punch over the “Eek you’re sweet” image aligning it with the dotted circle and punch out. Set aside.
- Position the square stamped image on the mat (DO NOT GLUE) and carefully use the 1 ¾” punch to remove the center of the stamped image AND the mat below. Set aside.
- Take the card stock that will be used for the card body. Position the 1 ¾” punch as far in from the bottom edge of the card as possible. Center horizontally on the front of the card and punch.
- Decorate the card face and inside left of the card as desired. This step is much easier now than when the card is three-dimensional.
- Place Sticky Strip on the bottom and both side edges of the mat (Do not apply the tape to the tope of the square) and align the hole in the mat with the hole in the front of the card. Adhere.
- Remove the protective tape from the edge of the Sweet Treats cup and adhere to the mat aligning it with the hole.
- Apply Snail adhesive to all four edges of the square cut out stamped image and fit over treat cup being careful to align the edges with the mat to allow for the 1/8” border
- Cut a 2” x 4 ¼” piece of Basic Black card stock. Use the Ticket Corner punch to notch the top two corners.
- Mount the “Eek you’re sweet” circle in the center of a contrasting color cardstock punched from the Scallop Circle punch.
Attach Stampin Dimensionals to the back and affix to top of the 2” x 4 ¼” strip of black paper.
- Slide the strip of black card stock between the matted image and the card body to complete the closure of the Sweet Treats cup.
- Turn the card over and lightly trace a circle on the black card stock showing through the hole.
- Remove and stamp an appropriate image in the center of the circle with Whisper White Craft Ink.
Fill the cup and share!
FAntastic! Thanks so much for creating this and sharing it - can't wait to give it a try!

I just got my stamp set yesterday. I had the little cups and knew I'd have to figure something out. But it looks like you did it already. My September class is going to be a sweet treats class - all different treat containers.
Thanks for sharing.

What a fantastic idea!! I found your tutorial through Mary's site, but I met you at Convention a few weeks ago. I was at your Make & Take table, so also just wanted to pop over and say hi! I'll definitely give this a try because I'm with you - no way is someone tearing up my card just to get to a few M&Ms!
