Stampin' Up! Best of 25 Years Flowers
& Loving Thoughts
Color challenges can be easy or difficult, depending on how your wired. And I don't mean color challenges in general, but the comination of colors. I have had color combinations that I have stared at for hours and not had a clue where to go. This combination was not hard. ANY time I have a color combination with green in it, I think FLOWERS! And the March Best of... Series of stamps sets was right there. (April's set is butterflies so technically I used that too!)

Putting It Together Tips:
- Our background stamps are wonderful for cards because they are larger than the A2 card size so it's easy to create a custom background. What's hard is trying to be sure that straight lines - like those in En Francais - line up with the top/bottom of the card. Here's my tip. Place your 4” x 5 1/4“ piece of card stock on a black piece of card stock exactly 3/4'' from the left and bottom edges of the black card stock. Line up your Stamp-a-ma-jig with the lower left corner of the black card stock and slide the background stamp down on the smaller card stock. This will align the image perfectly with the over stamp on the black!
- Although it doesn't look like it, the butterfly and flower are embossed in Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder. I thought black StazOn ink was too harsh for a sympathy card, and the gold adds such a nice soft glimmer. Using the Blender Pen to color the image is then super easy as the color does not adhere to the embossed image.
- Making the butterfly 3D is super EZ! Stamp two butterflies and cut off both right (or left, depending on which way you want your butterfly to face) wings. Attach the bodies with a glue dot and then another dot to adhere it to the card face. The Glue Dots ensure a nice firm bond. BTW, I'm dedicating my butterfly to Holly (you know who you are) who LOVES butterflies! ;-)
If you haven't looked at the Occasions Catalog at least 45 times, I suggest you peruse it again (and again). There are so many treasures in this catalog and it's only available through the end of May. Check it out HERE or download it HERE!
