Here's another one of those projects that I have been wanting to try and I must say I am super pleased with the outcome.  Although I love the It's a Wrap series of stamp sets intended for candy wrappers, I don't really make those kinds of projects very often, so I needed to come up with a project that wasn't calorie intensive!  This fit the bill perfectly.  The small squares measure 3/4'' square and are matted on a 1'' square of Brushed Gold cardstock to create a mosaic background of leaves.  This now empowers you to create a whole series of holiday cards using the various stamps in this set!  Enjoy!

Putting It Together Tips:

• Probably the most important - and best - news I can share with you is that you can use scraps to create the leaves background.  It takes such a small piece of paper to imprint the wrappers, and even if the whole wrapper doesn't fit on the paper, you can still use a part of it!
• I used SNAIL to adhere the squares to the Early Espresso card stock but I just eyeballed the spacing.  Lay out your card first and position the squares in place.  You can fine tune the plavce,emt as you are adhering the squares to the card stock.
• The Stamp-a-ma-jig was crucial in positioning the sentiment on the tag.  Die cut the tag first and then use a scap of vellum to make the sentiment impression using the Stamp-a-ma-jig.  I used some temprary adhesive to adhere the tag to the work surface as it's kind of small for the Stamp-a-ma-jig to secure it.  Place the vellum over the tag aligning the sentiment on the tag and then position the Stamp-a-ma-jig and stamp.
• I placed the sentiment at the end of the tag so the ribbon wouldn't cover any of it up!
• I added some glue from the glue stick to the surface of the card under the wreath and then slid the die cut Little Leaves in place and pressed them into the glue to secure.  They are far too fragile to apply glue directly to their surface.

Lovely As A Tree

This card was a work in progress.  I had an idea of what I wanted to do, but no details.  So I just pulled out the stamps and started applying the ink.  Everything from there just evolved!

Stampin' Steps

1. Imprint the tree cluster from the "Lovely as a Tree" set twice in Soft Suede on a 5 1/2" x 4 1/2" piece of very Vanilla card stock allowing the images to print off the paper on both sides.
2. Prepare two masks - one cut to mimic the shape of the tree tops and one to mimic the bottom area of the branches.  Using the abstract leaves stamp from the "Branch Out" set, stamp leaves over the branches first in Crushed Curry, then Only Orange, and finally in Dusty Durango.  Remove the masks.  TIP:  Using large Post-it notes, stamp the image on the adhesive end of the note.  This keeps the note close to the card stock for more precise masking.
3. Create a mask of the horizon to mask off the trees and expose the ground.  Using the Crushed Curry Classic Ink Pad, drag the pad from top to bottom of the hill for solid coverage.  Allow to dry.  Using the abstract leaf stamp again, stamp leaves on the ground using Only Orange and Dusty Durango.  Remove the masks.
4. Pass the card stock through the Big Shot using the Top Note die in landscape mode being careful to keep the horizon of the image parallel with the bottom of the die.  Adhere to a 5" x 4" piece of Dusty Durango card stock.  Round the corners using the Corner Rounder punch.
5. Imprint the sentiment on a 5/8" 1 1/2" piece of Very Vanilla card stock using Soft Suede.  Imprint the small leaf from the "Lovely As a Tree" set using Crushed Curry Classic Ink.  Adhere to  3/4" x 3 1/4" piece of Dusty Durango card stock.
6. Using the Horizontal Slot punch, punch a slot at either end.  Thread a 15" piece of Crushed Curry ribbon through the slots and wrapping the ribbon around the card assembly, tie a knot.  Trim the ends.  Place a Stampin Dimensional behind the sentiment for depth.
7. Attach the whole assembly to a 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" piece of Very Vanilla card stock scored at 4 1/4" using SNAIL.  Fold.

Mojo Monday 113 - In Those Times

I really enjoy using the embosslits and embossing folders.  They add a wonderful texture without adding a lot of pattern to a creation.  Using an embossing folder here for the Elegant Eggplant band and the Embosslits Flower Burst provides the perfect amount of texture and focus.

Stampin' Steps:

1. Cut a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of Autumn Traditions DSP and mat on a 4 1/8" x 5 3/8" piece of Elegant Eggplant card stock using the 2-Way Glue pen.  Cut a 1 1/4" x 5 1/4" piece of Elegant Eggplant card stock and emboss using the Finial Press embossing folder.  TIP:  I tried to position the strip in the embossing folder so that the pattern was evenly placed.  Although much of the pattern is covered, the parts that show support the symmetry of the card.  Position the strip in the center of the card vertically and affix using the 2-Way Glue Pen.
2. Cut a 2 3/4" x 3 3/4" piece of Autumn Traditions DSP and mat on a 3"x 4" piece of More Mustard card stock using the 2-Way Glue pen.  Affix to the card face using SNAIL.  TIP:  The embossing below creates a raised effect on this panel without the use of Stampin Dimensionals.  This raised effect requires SNAIL to ensure the panel is securely fastened to the card face.
3. Cut a 2 1/4" x 3 1/4" piece of Very Vanilla card stock.  Stamp the sentiment using Ruby Red Classic Ink.  Mat on a 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" piece of Elegant Eggplant using the 2-Way Glue Pen.  Position three brass brads in the upper right corner.  Affix to the card front using Stampin Dimensionals.  
4. Die cut the Stampin' Up! Flower Burst on Ruby Red card stock.  Using the felt surface of the Ruby Red Classic Ink Pad, dub gently on the raised portion of the Flower Burst to emphasize the texture without adding additional color to the scheme.  Affix using Stampin Dimensionals.
5. Attach the card face to a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" piece of very Vanilla card stock scored at the 4 1/4" mark using SNAIL adhesive.  Fold the card.

PPA 15 - Color Challenge

WOW!  Challenge is certainly the right word for this one.  I discovered one thing - I need to purchase a Basic Gray Classic Ink Pad!  I love matching stamp sets up for new looks.  This was one I had never imagined but the scale is perfect to create a taller intricate tree.

Stampin' Steps:

1. Cut a 3 1/2" x 4 1/2" piece of Very Vanilla card stock.  Using the Stamp-a-ma-jig on the top of the card stock, imprint the Pendant Park tree close to the top of the card stock using Ruby Red Classic ink.  TIP: The card stock is the same width as the wood block of the tree, so using the Stamp-a-ma-jig centers it perfectly on the paper!  Imprint the clear sheet that comes with the Stamp-a-ma-jig with the tree from the Branch Out stamp set by positioning the Stamp-a-ma-jig in the lower left corner of the clear sheet and carefully sliding the trunk stamp onto the plastic sheet. Position the clear sheet over the Pendant Park tree aligning the two trunks.  Place the Stamp-a-ma-jig against the lower left corner of the sheet and carefully remove the clear plastic.  Ink the image with Basic Gray Classic ink and imprint over the Pendant Park image using the Stamp-a-ma-jig as a guide.  Ticket corner punch all four corners.
2. Mat on a 3 5/8" x 4 5/8" piece of Basic Gray card stock using 2-Way Glue Pen.  Ticket corner punch all four corners.  Double mat on a 3 3/4" x 4 3/4" piece of Ruby Red card stock using the 2-Way Glue Pen.  Ticket corner punch all four corners.
3. Punch out both Photo Corners using Taken With Teal.  Ticket corner punch only the large punch.  Position the large punch in the upper left corner BEHIND the double matted image and the small Photo Corner in the upper left corner on the Very Vanilla spacing to match the matting using the 2-Way Glue Pen.
4. Cut a 2 1/4" x 1 1/4" piece of Very Vanilla card stock.  Imprint the sentiment with Taken With Teal Classic ink using the Stamp-a-ma-jig for alignment.  Ticket corner punch all four corners.
5. Mat on a 2 3/8" x 1 3/8" piece of Basic Gray card stock using the 2-Way Glue Pen.  Ticket corner punch all four corners.  Double mat on a 2 1/2" x 1 1/2" piece of Ruby Red using the 2-Way Glue Pen.  Ticket corner punch all four corners.   
6. Cut a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" piece of Very Vanilla card stock scored at the 4 1/4" mark.  Mount the tree assembly 1/8" to the left of the score line and 1/8" from the top of the card using SNAIL.  Mount the sentiment 1/8" from the bottom right corner using Stampin' Dimensionals.  Fold the card.

Stampin' Steps:

1. Cut a 3 3/4" piece of Whisper White card stock.  Imprint the tree base using Soft Suede Classic Ink.  Imprint the leaves using Dusty Durango and Crushed Curry Classic Ink.
2. Using the Ticket Corner Punch, notch all four corners and mat on a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of Dusty Durango card stock.  Mount this on a 5 12" x 8 1/2" piece of Crushed Curry card stock scored at the 4 1/4" mark.  TIP:  I never fold my cards until the card is finished.  I find it much easier to work on a flat surface and fold after the card is complete.
3. Cut a 2 1/4" piece of Crushed Curry ribbon.  Notch the end and glue to the card using SNAIL.
4. Using the stamp of the flower surrounded by dots in the True Friend stamp set, make two impressions on Whisper White card stock - one in Dusty Durango and one in Crushed Curry.  Punch the Crushed Curry impression out using the 1 1/4" circle punch and mat on a 1 3/8" punched circle of Dusty Durango.
5. Punch the Dusty Durango impression out with a 1" circle punch and mount on the Crushed Curry impression using a Stampin Dimensional.  Mount this on the matted circles created in step 4.
