Stampin' UP! Picture Perfect and Lovely Lace
Well, I'm trying to get back in the saddle again. I lost track of the PPAs so I thought I was making this for this Thursday. Turns out it was last Thursday! But it's not late until noon On Tuesday. So I'm still in the game!
Picture Perfect is one of my favorite sets from the current Occasions catalog. So when this color challenge came up I though this would be a perfect opportunity to get my feet wet again. I love how the combination of Crushed Curry and Pool Party creates an interesting green. It takes me right back to Color Wheel 101 - Blue + Yellow = Green
Step by Step:
- I started by stamping the base hummingbird image in Crushed Curry after stamping it off once. For those of you that aren't familiar with the stamping off technique, it is the process of inking up a stamp and then stamping it on a piece of scrap paper before stamping it on the project. It will obviously give you a lighter version of that color.
- Next I inked up part 2 of the hummingbird in Pool Party and stamped the image directly over the first image.
- The third layer was inked with Bermuda Bay, stamped off once, and added to the project.
- Finally the hummingbird throat was stamped in full strength Crushed Curry. Simple!
