It's Thursday and time for Pals Paper Arts weekly challenge. This week it's a sketch challenge by Pal Dawn Tidd. It's elegant in its simplicity! If you've never played with us, it's time to join in. It's super easy to play and challenges are just that - challenges on how you interpret a sketch or color palette. There's no wrong answer so please join us!
I think simple sketch challenges are the most difficult fort me. In case you haven't noticed, I don't do simple very well. So while this is not super simple, it truly is easy. I call it my homage to trees. There are three different tree stamp products in this card. And they all work beautifully together. Thoughtful Branches is still available in case you haven't picked it up yet. It's a great set and, I think, rivals Lovely As A Tree in it's flexibility!
Step by Step Tips:
- A piece of Whisper White card stock was run through the Woodland Embossing Folder and mounted on Delightful Dijon card stock.
- Next I took the small leaf from Lovely As A Tree and stamped in randomly on the card face using Delightful Dijon Classic Ink. I then colored it in using a Crushed Curry marker. To give the illusion that some of the leaves are falling behind the trees, I masked off the tree trunks with a scrap of card stock.
- I took a piece of vellum card stock and stamped the single leaf from Thoughtful Branches on the strap to form a border using Delightful Dijon Classic Ink and attached it using a trail of SNAIL behind the leaves where it won't show.
- The sentiment is stamped on a banner of vellum using Memento Ink and attached using two Dimensional. Simple!
